A shopping list for your fridge!

I need my shopping list ever next to me! So I created a magnetic one for my fridge. Actually it's hanging on the door frame because our fridge is covered with paintings from my daughter. I also created some magnetic flowers to pin this and that.
For the shopping display I used Yummy Treat. She's so lovely and reminds me of my daughter. The image is colored with Distress Inks. I think all flowers and the little doilies are Die-namics. The butterflies are Sizzix Framelits with Stamps and the doorhanger comes from Whiff of Joy. I created a matching frame with Photoshop for it so I can print my sentiments. The display needs a notepad with 2 3/4'' x 5 3/4". The notepad is not adhered with glue. The backside of it can be stuck in the display so you can use a new one when all the paper is used up.

It's really easy to create this display. First of all you need a piece of cardstock that measures 8" x 8 1/4". Score it at 4" and on the other side at 2 1/4". Now you have to cut it like this:

You need a clip for your pen, so you must have a some elastic tape. The right side of our cardstock (picture above) will be our front. So you have to cut a slot for the elastic tape. My tape was about 3/4" wide and 3" long.

The picture down below shows the front of our display. On the inner side I adhered the elastic with some Scotch tape and after that I fixed it with my sewing machine to prevent it from pulling out. If you don't have a sewing machine you must adhere the elastic on the back additionally to the Scotch tape with some wet glue. Otherwise the elastic will pull out after some time. It also is important to cover all the edges of the elastic tape on the inside with Scotch tape, otherwise the backside of you notepad won't slide in very well.

Now you only have to close the flap! Be careful: Don't adhere it on top, because you have to put your notepad in there. I sewed arround the three edges to close my display, but you can also use some doublesided tape. And then you are ready to decorate your shopping list!
At the end you must put some magnets on the back to make it stick to your fridge or wherever you want it.

I hope you had some fun. You can visit my blog and leave a comment, if you have any questions or if you want to check out my Christmas style shopping list from last year. Have a nice day, hugs, Susanne.
