Origami Diamond Card

Hello Aunty Sue here some of us where give one of the new release stamps to make a special project with. I was given this fab stamp WHY NOT SWING and decided to try a new fold.  I do hope you like and will have ago at it.

Origami Diamond Card

Ingredients
11inch square Designer Paper- Laura Ashley Love song
Double sided tape
Score Tool
Items to decorate –
Designer paper – Summer Papers – My Minds Eye
Backing Card
Flowers – Sweet Petites
Lace, Ribbon & Pearls
Stamps – Crafty Sentiments – Circle Sentiment- Why Not Swing
Promarkers – Gold Peel off Lines
Spellbinders scalloped circle & X cut circle
Method
Place 11inch square Design paper face down and fold diagonally.  Score

Place the long edge of the paper to the top side of the scoring board. Score at 3 ¼” and 5 1/2". Flip the paper over and score again 3 1/4" and 5 1/2" .

Turn your paper with the long end on the right side and the triangle pointing to the left side. Score at the 3 1/2" mark from the left hand side.

Folding all the scored marks toward the inside of the card. Cut the two ends of the triangle off as in the next picture.

Laying the card down. You are going to make the Origami fold. Put your fingers into the fold on the right side and place to finger at the centre and press down them score. This is a basic origami fold. Do the same thing on the left side.

You need to tape or glue the inside of your card.
Hint:
REMEMBER DO NOT PUT ANY GLUE ON THE LEFT ORIGAMI FOLD.

then
Stick the 2 sides together but HOLD THE RIGHT ORIGAMI FOLD OPEN WITH YOUR RIGHT HAND SO IT WILL NOT GLUE FLAT AT THIS POINT. (As in the above picture)
Once you have taped together the card you can now press down the origami fold as in the previous picture
Your card is now complete and just needs decorating.

Once You have decorated the panels to close.
Fold the right hand side inwards then the left in and tuck the top into the open flap.
Your closed card will look like this

Here is a close up of the inside with the stamp WHY NOT SWING which you can find HERE

I first saw this tutorial on Splitcoaststampers here so if you want to see video then there is one there. Thanks for popping by and hoped you enjoyed the tutorial.
Hugs Aunty Sue
